VPS or SC2?

With the addition of our brand new VPS product to our cloud product range, naturally clients are left wondering which product to choose – VPS or SC2? In this blog post we will be breaking down the two products into a few aspects to compare and find out.

Network and uptime

VPS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
SC2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the many things that our clients love about us is our network performance and uptime guarantee. Both our VPS product and SC2 are hosted on our premium cloud network.

Our networks are engineered from the bottom up to provide the high-availability requirements of our clients with redundant and divergent routed fiber-optic links to service providers and peers with over 200 multiple Tier 1 transit providers such as AmazonGoogle FiberJapan TelecomEtisalatHutchisonTATA Communications and China Telecom. Accordingly our network stability is guaranteed by a bare minimum of 192 lines of dark fiber that takes divergent paths to numerous carrier buildings. This allows us to guarantee that you will able to access our services from anywhere in the world with little to no downtime.

When it comes to uptime, all our cloud products here at CloudCone, come with 99.9% network and power uptime guarantee. In case of any unexpected downtime, we will offer a percentage of your server pricing as credit. The credit varies depending on a few factors and you can read our complete SLA for further details on credit eligibility etc.

Performance

VPS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
SC2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Both our VPS product and SC2 are hosted on premium Dell machines located on our Downtown Los Angeles data center. With the latest Intel processors and SSD/SSD cache based storage, these servers also offer blazing speeds to boost your projects and facilitate your workloads no matter which product line you opt to deploy.

Features

VPS ⭐⭐⭐
SC2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re big on features such as Automated Backups, Snapshots, Managed Firewall and Cloud View, our SC2 product is the ideal choice for you. A small intro into each of these SC2 exclusive features:

Automated Backups– Our Automated Backups feature lets you set auto backup schedules for any time of your preference so that your data gets backed up and saved regularly without you having to manually interfere. This is an easy way to protect your server against data loss, a threat that affects a large percentage of websites and online businesses but only a few can fully recover from.

Snapshots– Snapshots are a form of quick backups that lets you capture the status of your virtual server at any point in time. If something goes wrong in your server, it is always good to have a snapshot ready. Snapshots can take you back to the point in time before the error occurred and grant you a second attempt at saving your server from corruption. Taking a snapshot does not affect the bandwidth of your virtual server and can capture large volumes of data at the same time.

SC2 features as seen on our client area

Managed FirewallCloud Firewall allows you to control traffic on any incoming UDP or TCP port with the help of predetermined rules set by you. It helps you make sure that you are safe from unauthorized access to your servers. All in all, they create a secure space for you to carry on your important tasks without being attacked or brute-forced. This goes to prove that if you do leave your server without a firewall, all your ports are exposed to the world.

Cloud ViewA free addon to all SC2 and Dedicated servers, Cloud View allows you to watch what’s happening inside your server with advanced statistics such as network traffic throughput, CPU utilization, live process list, RAM utilization, load average and more.

In addition to these features, with SC2 you can also get your hands on one-click applications and pure SSD servers to boost the efficiency of your workloads and get them done more productively.

When it comes to our VPS product, there are a few unique features as well, including our feature-specific upgradability during deployment. This feature allows you to you to add more units per individual resource at the time of deploying in case you want to customize your VPS even further.

Our VPS product also offers SSD Cached storage. SSD Cached technology is an accelerated storage type that caches your Virtual Private Servers frequently read/written data, allowing much faster IOPS compared to traditional Hard Disk Drives. SSD Cached storage has read/write speeds that come close to those of pure SSDs, which boosts server redundancy.

Affordability and pricing

VPS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
SC2 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re looking for an affordable server to host your general purpose projects, our VPS product has got you covered. It’s ideal for those who are looking for competitive pricing over anything else and it’s got fixed monthly/ yearly pricing that is recurring for a lifetime. Another exciting advantage is that with our VPS product you can grab highly discounted seasonal offers.

On the other hand, our SC2 offers hourly billing which ensures that you’re billed only per your usage and nothing more. As this is our premium tier, SC2 is not as big on savings as our VPS product, but it still offers a wide range of affordable prices than the competition.

Also, our 7 day money back guarantee is applicable to both our SC2 product and our VPS product so you can try out either of these products with confidence at any time with zero risk.
